Kristina Stenman
Kristina Stenman has started work as the Finnish Non-Discrimination Ombudsman from August 2020. During 2016-2020 she was the Mayor of Pietarsaari, Finland. She has previously worked as the lawyer for the Finnish Refugee Council and as a researcher for the Institute for Human Rights at Åbo Akademi, vice-mayor of the City of Vaasa and Head of Immigration Affairs in the Centre for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment. She has a Master of Laws degree from the University of Helsinki and is writing her PhD thesis on the development of the right to seek asylum in the Nordic countries.
